In the early summer of 2007, representatives from 4 law enforcement agencies (Midland PD, Granbury PD, Gainesville PD and Burleson PD) with working or developing Citizens On Patrol programs  came together to organize the first ever Citizens On Patrol Conference for the State of Texas. These representatives have extensive knowledge and training with citizen involved law enforcement volunteers.

Our goal is to help train every citizen on patrol volunteer in the State and make Texas a leader in Homeland Security efforts and have safe neighborhoods in our communities.

Hood County News Article dated 03-17-2010 referencing Granbury COPS members Oppermann and Hooper!

There is a great article in today’s HCN’s citing GPDCPAA Cops members Bruce Oppermann and Kathy Hooper representing the City of Granbury and the Granbury Police Department professionally as they were called upon to act at the scene of a recent traffic accident with injuries during a citizens on patrol assignment as VOLUNTEERS for the police department. Maybe what the article didn’t say is the most important…………GPD receptionist Cheryl Kirchner, shortly after the event received a telephone call from a citizen complimenting both Oppermann and Hooper for their actions. Good job guys!
